‘Las lágrimas de pachamama’ (The tears of Mother Earth)
Human kind seems to be completely destroying nature. We are dealing with the harsh consequences of this, such as climate change, extinction of animal species by deforestation and pollution of the earth and ocean and diseases resulting in the current pandemic. Mother earth is crying.
But if we take a closer look, nature is stronger than we think. If we let nature take its course, it will repair itself in a short time. In places where nature is getting the upper hand again, we can see how strong she actually is. The power of nature is tremendous.
When you take a look at my work ‘Las Lágrimas de Pachamama’ at first sight you think about the suffering of the Earth. You see the factory dominate on top of the earth and the blood tears from the heart of the Earth.
But take a closer look…
And you will discover the power of nature, slowly taking over the abandoned factory. She is crying, but her tears are collected in a pool of fertile fluid, new plants are growing around the pond. Nature is always recovering. We should not think about nature as something separate from us. we are part of this nature, we ARE nature. If we reconnect with the energy of Pachamama, Earth will recover and get healthy again.
